Radiant’s core network supports all three major Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies:
MPLS VPN: the highest performance, most flexible private network solution. Works only with on-net locations. Gives you full freedom to assign private IP addresses (RFC 1918) across your various locations. You can establish your own routing (using the CPE provided by Radiant) or allow us to handle it for you inside the Juniper ERX Provider Edge routers
IPSec VPN: classically used for Hub-and-Spoke VPNs. Encapsulation of every packet causes a slight performance hit that can be significant to legacy applications. Works across the public Internet so gives you the widest possible reach.
SSL VPN: ideal for road warriors or to provide secure access to applications on your network for customers or vendors. Remote users need only a standard Internet browser; no complicated software clients to be loaded and managed. Access granted can be different based on who the user is, even based on the computer he/she is using (e.g. greater access if using a trusted company-owned laptop, less access if using an Internet café machine)
TriplePlay VPN: ties all three of these into a seamless whole. Use :: MPLS for all your on-net locations :: IPSec for off-net or carrier-diverse failover :: SSL for road warriors and external partners You do not have to buy expensive VPN concentrators or SSL VPN appliances. Radiant’s core network handles all the connections and routes them into a single secure MPLS cloud.
