What is an IPSec VPN? IPSec VPN - Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), Virtual Private Network (VPN) links all your sites together in a single, secure private network. IPSec is a technology that enables you to create a VPN even over a public network such as the Internet.
A typical IPSec VPN has router at each site that is programmed to communicate over an IPSec link to a router at the central site – the Hub-and-Spoke configuration.
IPSec links are secure because both originating and destination routers share a secret key so each router can be sure it is communicating with an authorized router. And all the data is 3DES encrypted so no one can read the data even if it is intercepted.
Radiant’s IPSec VPN Service We design and implement a Hub-and-Spoke VPN linking your branch offices or stores to your headquarters. This will include routers at each branch office or store, and a larger VPN concentrator at your central location.
We then manage the routers and VPN configuration for you, including:
- 24x7 monitoring of both the broadband circuit and the VPN with proactive response to any failure
- Change management and firmware upgrades: whenever you need to change your VPN or a firmware upgrade is needed, we will engineer the change and then deploy it to all the routers in your network
- Managed security: our standard managed security service is bundled into the IPSec service
- Hardware service: if one of your routers fails, we will immediately configure a replacement and deliver it by the next business day.
For even greater security, when you use Radiant’s IPSec VPN, all your VPN traffic between on-net sites is routed over Radiant’s private backbone.
