IP Solutions Complete Debit/Credit Transactions in Four Seconds or Less
(Vancouver, BC) – Radiant Communications Corp. (“Radiant”) (TSX Venture Exchange: RCX), one of Canada’s largest independent providers of IP-based data communications and Internet services, announced today that Please Mum is now utilizing Radiant’s RetailCONNECT™ IP network services in all of its 73 corporate stores from Vancouver to St John’s. A household name across Canada, Please Mum is a retailer, designer and manufacturer of high quality children’s clothing – newborn through age 10.
With Radiant’s RetailCONNECT, the only all-in-one IP technology solution available from a single provider, stores are connected to Please Mum’s corporate office via a high-speed, secure virtual private network. Please Mum’s debit/credit transactions are encrypted at each store and securely transmitted via TurboSwitch, Radiant’s fully redundant, IP payment gateway. Transaction authorizations are received in only three to four seconds compared to the 30 seconds it had taken before using Radiant’s RetailCONNECT and TurboSwitch.
“Implementing Radiant’s RetailCONNECT IP network services has improved network connections between our stores and corporate office and allowed us to introduce new IP-enabled applications at the store level,” said Mark Wilkie, Vice President Finance for Please Mum. “The first thing customers notice is that their debit/credit transactions are being authorized in only a few seconds. Faster service is always an important benefit for customers.”
"Please Mum is a great Canadian success story. They understand the high quality of service that customers demand and the role technology plays in providing that service,” said Jim Grey, Radiant’s President and CEO. “Please Mum has been a Radiant customer since 1999 and we are very pleased that they have chosen the RetailCONNECT solution to meet their new IP network requirements.”
